Blackfriars

We had a very good time at Blackfriars and would recommend it to others travellers.

Pros: Blackfriars was in a perfect location for exploring Inverness. We could walk from the train station and walk easily to the castle and along the river. Breakfast was excellent and the room was clean and comfortable although there was a big difference in space compared to our room and my kids room which was bigger and had space for sitting. So there is a variation in the size of the rooms. But it was very comfortable for a couple of nights of a short break. So no big complaints and would stay again if visiting Inverness mainly because it was so close to everything we wanted to do in Inverness.

Cons: We were a little disappointed that the room was not ready for check-in time and the staff weren't really on the front foot for suggesting we leave our bags and head out to explore, but once we realised that the rooms were not going to be ready we asked if we could store our bags stored and went out for a walk.

Had a great time! Coming back again.

Pros: The location is super central. Only 15 mins from the airport by car. There is a public parking 🅿️ 3 mins walk away (£8 per day max). A nice little pub/restaurant right in the house is also great for having some food or a drink. I did not hear any noise at any time and my room was right above. Staff is super friendly and gave me some great recommendations for my trip to the Highlands. Really enjoyed my stay. Thank you :)

Lovely family

Pros: Breakfast was fab! Lots of choice with the prepaid breakfast.

Cons: We had a few big cobwebs around the ceiling in the bedroom.

Friendly service in a characterful property that needs some attention.

Pros: The staff were lovely and I appreciated the overall vibe of the property, creaky floors and all. It definitely has a potential and it's a convenient place to stay if catching an early train.

Cons: The place just wasn't clean enough, plus, there were some really weird odours. On top of that, the heating in my room didn't work, which isn't great when it's freezing outside. Yes, an electric heater was provided but in a similarly small room, and with a suitcase already too big for the space, it was simply inconvenient.

Mainly loved it , would come back and recommend

Pros: Really lovely building , location and staff. Would definitely revisit or recommend on that basis

Cons: The heating in the room was terrible- radiator didn’t work and timing of heating in the morning ( only towel rail in bathroom worked) meant waking up cold . The portable heater wasn’t something you could leave over night to come on before you woke up- this was February and we are wimpy southerners 😂

Perfect stay for a quick visit to Inverness

Pros: Good location and excellent value for a last minute booking. The ladies that attended us at both check-in and check-out were absolutely lovely. Perfect for a short stay in Inverness!

Cons: The noises of the wooden floors from the above and adjacent rooms were strange and annoying at first but we kinda got use to it

Pros: A lovely old building with modern room that was very comfortable. We eat in the bar and had a very nice meal, great selection of beers, wines etc

Pros: The location, the bar\u0026restaurant, the art deco room

Cons: Leaking bathtub, no soapor shampoo near the bathtub, bit of noise in one corner of the room between 10 and 11 pm

Pros: Great location, very comfortable and clean. Loved the cookie basket!

A very pleasant stay. Would stay again!
