The Commercial Hotel

Great stay with a bit of humour thrown in.

Pros: It's in a little village which was very quiet because of the time of the year. Made to feel welcome by staff and the locals. Billy Connolly is a great `Scottish comedian, the waitress could give Billy a run for his money.

Pros: A very cosy hotel/pub, good home cooked food. Stayed whilst working in the area

110% I will be back very soon, I cannot stress how much this was a home from home

Pros: This is an absolute gem!! It was so cosy and homely and clean. The staff were amazing, the food was amazing and the black pudding was the best I’ve ever tasted, the locals were so friendly and made me feel very welcome.

Cons: Not a thing I didn’t like

Pros: Property is lovely and homely , very friendly, courteous , food in restaurant was great, because I was leaving early they made packed lunch, which was fantastic highly recommended 10/10

Cons: Breakfast a little weak but for the price quite happy.

A gem of a hotel in quiet rural location

Pros: What a gem of a hotel this was. Location was in a quiet little town in rural Scotland and I used it as a base to visit castles and stone circles in this area. My room was nicely decorated and lovely with a very soft comfy bed and little finishing touches such as a hot water bottle and a charger so I didn’t need my adapter. Nice reading light on a side table and chair. The staff were very helpful, the restaurant excellent and I ate there every night as there were limited options, bar meals were also available. Too cold to use their outdoor garden seating but would have been lovely in warmer weather.

Cons: A small point - would have liked brighter bedside lighting to read in bed. It was Very pretty but mood lighting rather than reading lights- but there was the table light and comfy chair so I managed.

Pros: A spacious room in an old, but well kept hotel. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff and good dinner and breakfast.

Welcoming and comfortable country inn - also checkout their steading self catering!

Pros: Super welcoming. And I arrived during Storm Amy which had just cut power to the whole village. Staff had sorted out torches for all guests and sandwiches were still forthcoming from the kitchen. Keep calm and carry on ! Comfiest bed!

Cons: Not much. A wee bit of noise from the farmer boys heading home, but nothing dramatic.

Pros: The staff were very welcoming and couldn’t have been more helpful.
