Good value stay with excellent food!

Pros: Staff very welcoming and hospitable. Food was outstanding.

Cons: Bedroom was a little β€˜tired’. Double glazing units had blown so couldn’t see out of windows and made the room noisy from traffic and other residents leaving very early for their coach trip. Curtains very sheer material so didn’t block out early morning light.

It was a great experience. we enjoyed our stay. very friendly and welcoming. Food was really good.

Pros: The hotel has a very nice Scottish vibes and it feels full of history. The staff were very nice and friendly and Sam was very welcoming and gave us suggestions for places to visit. We arrived late in the evening after the kitchen was closed due to road works, but they didn't let us down and they prepared a really delicious dinner for us. room was very nice, clean and comfy.

Comfy, good food and superb host!

Pros: The host, Sam! She really makes everyone feel welcome, doing all she can for us. The food was absolutely lovely! Even though we arrived later, we were still accommodate with what we wanted.

Cons: The hotel was as expected and just what we needed after a couple of days walking the John O Groats Trail.

Pros: Very old fashioned but welcoming feel about this place. Although it looks and smells old you could see care had been taken to ensure it was clean. Really nice biscuits and water in the room and the towels were lovely.

Cons: Not much selection in the bar but in quite a remote area.

Pros: Friendliness of staff, can't do enough to make your stay a pleasurable one. Sam & her husband will welcome you like old friends. Arrived by bike & offered a space in the stables they're converting into undercover bike parking (with locks & cameras) sadly our bike was too wide (Goldwing). Quirky with lovely decor. Large, comfortable room with large bathroom that included a bath. Restaurant & bar. Food in restaurant was lovely & reasonably priced. Fresh fish from the nearby harbour. Perfect stop off if doing NC500.

Cons: Very old building so sound proofing not great. But to be expected. Could do with blackout blinds in rooms especially during summer months when you only get 3-4 hrs of darkness.
