With a peaceful position overlooking the River Garry, this friendly 4-star country inn is an ideal base from which to explore the Scottish Highlands. Between Fort William and the Nevis Range, Inverness, the west coast and Skye, the Invergarry Hotel is based at the historic home of the Ancient Clan Macdonnell. Built in 1885, the hotel was originally an old stagecoach inn. It has since been used as a sporting and shooting lodge before being transformed into a hotel, complete with residents’ lounge and private gardens. Steeped in history and character, the hotel provides traditional Highland hospitality, welcoming log fires, fresh local food, real ales from the Isle of Skye and a large range of wines and Highland whiskies. Dinner is served at the Invergarry Hotel and guests can choose from an extensive menu.

Great food, good location, beautiful building.

Pros: An excellent breakfast of porridge, salmon + scrambled egg. Perfect for a long day of walking ahead.

Cons: A firmer matress would have provided a better nights sleep. Dark furnishings do nothing to enhance guests feeling of wellbeing, when its dark and grey outside. Your furnishings need to lighten up. You have a beautiful building.

Beautiful hotel but expensive

Pros: Beautiful hotel that has been renovated to a high standard. Our room was lovely and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed an evening meal in the restaurant too. Great location along the Great Glen Way too!

Cons: Very expensive and breakfast was £25 each per person in addition to the room rate. It was nice but we both agreed it wasn’t worth that additional expense. WiFi very patchy and didn’t work well in the room.

Pleasant hotel in a lovely 19th Century building.

Pros: Pleasant hotel in a lovely building dating from 1885. A good stopping off point for any journey from the south heading to the NW or NE Highlands. I had a very nice room. Comfortable bar and good if not outstanding evening meal.

Cons: My room was cold overnight and I couldn't locate any way of heating it up.

Really nice place to stay with friendly staff. Good central spot to access the Highlands.

Pros: - Central location: between Glencoe, Fort Williams, Fort Augustus, Isle of Skye etc - Property in good condition, with a nice outdoor area - Staff were friendly and helpful - Easy to park - Great food at the hotel. Lots of other good options nearby too - Great shower pressure!
