Wonderful place

Pros: Stunning location, very friendly guy on reception, warm spacious, very quiet, lovely building. A privilege to stay in such a fabulous building for a very good price.

Cons: No breakfast available but a kettle, tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and table and two chairs so all good.

value for money

Pros: I had a good price offer and the twin room was clean and spacious for 1 person. The surroundings are nice and the house has interesting history. Comfortable bed. I'd probably go again.

Cons: It is quite sad that the rest of the house isn't looked after well. For example, there were balloons on the floor from a birthday party about 6 weeks ago. The wifi didn't work on some days and the landline to call the hotel isn't working either. I know that the house is in transition, but I think with just a bit more love and care it would be so much better. The house is old and if you have someone in the room next door, you can hear each other quiet a bit; but there were decent people staying, so it was sufficiently quiet.

Great no-frills accommodation that is superb value for money.

Pros: It's a pretty unique building, Victorian hydro hotel meets 1970s residential college. The rooms aren't cleaned every day but generally the place is kept well. Shared bathrooms, but there are enough of them that there won't be a queue for a shower. No food options, but only 2min drive to the high street. Grab the chance to stay here before it is redeveloped and costs 10x as much!

Cons: If you're just looking for basic accommodation at a very good price and availability, there's really nothing to dislike. Definitely worth messaging/phoning to confirm arrival time to make sure the reception team are waiting for you.

Victorian gem

Pros: I have walked through the woodland walks looking down at this mansion many times over the years. Back then it was owned by the Findhorn Foundation and people paid hundreds of pounds to stay at residential wellbeing courses here. It was a privilege to spend a night here. Clean, comfortable bedroom. The bath was enormous with plentiful hot water. Will definitely stay again.

Basic but nice

Pros: Really polite friendly staff, basic but really clean large rooms. Mold free (a biggie for budget rooms). No tv, but I believe these are available upon request

Cons: Rooms are basic - but what would you expect

Budget price, amazingly comfortable, super place

Pros: Ok so it's faded glory from it's Victorian and 1960s days (look it up on Wikipedia) but freshly painted throughout, woodwork well polished, the room was huge and the bed very very comfortable. Has a lovely feel to it.

Cons: Nothing it was all fine, perhaps could use some milk with the tea and coffee and biscuits that were provided but heck that's a small niggle

Budget room, clean and bright. I will stay here again.

Pros: Budget room with shared bathroom. Room was basically just a bed and basic tea / coffee (no milk) and a hairdryer and toiletries. Room was clean and bright, and parking was available.

Cons: There was no chair in the room to sit on, It would be nice to have at least one chair so as not having to sit on the bed.

Great value for money and clean

Pros: This is a very basic hotel, reflecting the price. It was clean and reasonably comfortable. And if all you need is a bed for thr night it's great value. There are no frills, shared bathrooms, no bar or restaurant. You get what you pay for.
