Pros: Colin our host was very welcoming and good not do more for us.

Cons: No alcohol license.

Cardhu House - a beautiful stay in the Scottish Highlands

Pros: Location was just lovely! Colin and Sarah could not have been more helpful. The rooms were very well appointed and the en-suite facilities were great too. Breakfast in the morning was a real highlight - especially the porridge made from whisky soaked oats!

Cons: Our lovely rooms were on the second floor at the top of the house, which wasn't ideal for my older parents as they struggled a bit with the stairs - on reflection I should have checked that their room would not require more than one flight of stairs to reach.

Stopped at the property after a nearby distillery visit and thoroughly enjoyed the stop

Pros: Location was lovely. Colin was an excellent host. Room was excellent. As was breakfast.

Cons: Lack of in house dining on the night we visited meant a £50 return taxi for our evening meal. Thus was not obvious to us at the time of booking.

Great location and friendly hosts.

Pros: The Host Colin was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious as was dinner. The grounds were lovely with lots of walks nearby.

Cons: We missed out on a whiskey tour but that was bad planning on my part. More info on local tastings and tours maybe.

Luxury without pretension

Pros: Everything! A beautiful home in a calm, secluded area. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home here. A warm welcome from Colin, a delicious dinner of locally sourced and homemade food, a large room with so many nice touches, and a hearty breakfast (ohhh that whisky porridge!). Luxury without pretension. Perfect!

An incredible place with excellent hosts

Pros: The property is perfectly situated in the middle of whisky country. Our hosts Colin\u0026Sarah were super accommodating with all our requests, advised us on tours not to be missed. Everything was spotless clean, beds super comfy, breakfasts just great. We dined there twice as well and were very satisfied. I would absolutely recommend this place and stay again.

Highlight of our vacation!

Pros: The house is very comfortable, location is perfect. The bathrobes in the bathroom were a great touch. Shower was nice and strong. We were welcomed by Collin and unfortunately we were not able to have dinner at the location, however we were sent to a friend at the 1881 restaurant and that was very nice. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, with plenty of choices.

Cons: Unfortunately we couldn’t stay another night, because all rooms were booked. We will come back next year!

Simply exceptional!

Pros: Every detail is thought and taken care of! We stayed with my family for one night during our roadtrip to Scotland. Starting with the location in the middle of the countryside, the house is beautiful and very stylishly decorated. The rooms are very spacious and the view of the countryside out of the windows very relaxing. They are impeccably clean with very comfortable beds and fresh smelling towels. Our breakfast was superb! Colin, the owner, was very accommodating and helpful. We will certainly recommend Cardhu Country House to our friends and we will return for a longer stay!

Pros: Colin and Sarah truly took care of us during our stay. Beautiful location in the middle of Speyside with close access to a lot of distilleries. Great and flexible service. Amazing communication as they were easy to get in touch with. Both the breakfast and dinner tasted really good!
