Lovely stay and everything very clean with great food.

Pros: Quiet stay and everything very clean. Looks like lots of fresh painting and new carpets which was nice to see. Staff were lovely and we ate in the bar which was very good and decent price.

It was a one night stay and will definitely go back when the weather is warmer and enjoy the outside bar area.

Pros: Very quirky with tasty decor. Food was very good and as a Davidson also very interesting. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Green Lady bar was very nice and made to feel very welcome.

Cons: Heating in the room was not great although we were given a booster radiator. TV reception was also erratic at times.

Pros: Lovely hotel for a stopover. Paul was very helpful and knowledgeable about the history of the castle, which was refreshing. Nice bar and staff with good pub grub, with an option for fine dining. Very dog-friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay again if in the area. The room was spacious and clean, keeping the castle feel with a four-poster bed, along with a good bathroom and walk-out balcony.

Nice place to stay .

Pros: It’s a beautiful place to stay , the first night we stay in the room on the top floor with great views . The staff were very helpful and friendly. I will recommend the place to anyone.

Cons: We spent our first night in apartment 15. It was a lovely room, but unfortunately the damp smell was unbearable. In the morning, I went to reception and was offered another room downstairs and welcomed. Thank you for that. Food, you need to work on it, it's not appropriate to have bad food in such a place.

Christmas getaway

Pros: Thr castle was beautiful and warm too , beds comfortable, good staff Room clean and bathroom really lovely . Beds comfortable

Cons: Dinner in green lady resturant was sun standard, very expensive for the type of quality of food and a service charge of 10% without asking us , chips were like oven chips unfortunately and fish wasn't very white, starter used garlic bread with tomatos and olive oill bit standard for price 😢 Fire in lounge is opposite the reception desk so didn't feel very homely or private and fire was only lit with a few bits of coal, and was off by 9pm . Breakfast was average, I only had continental, so can't comment on hot food Room needed better lighting and a desk lamp

Romantic night in a castle

Pros: Circumstances meant they had to upgrade us to the room with a 4 poster bed! So many original features but the best was the food and the lovely staff who welcomed our 19 year old cat with open arms.

Cons: Absolutely nothing.
