A real highland gem.

Pros: It's been many years since Ive stayed in a histel and i was a little apprehensive about booking. I needn't ha e worried as the hostel was exceptional - better than some hotels I've visited. The lounge was spacious with several comfortable sofas and the kitchen was well appointed with fridges and freezers for those staying longer and self-catering. Complimentary tea and coffee was also available. My double bedroom was large and comfortable and all you'd need for a night or two. The hostel is just on the outskirts of Braemar but easily withing walking distance of the amenities on offer. It is also an excellent location for anyone wishing to explore the remoteness and beauty of the Scottish Mountains. Janick and Harrison were great hosts and were welcoming and friendly. They keep the place in the best of order. 10/10.

Pros: Everything. The staff are nice. The rooms are great. Very clean. The lounge area is amazing. The kitchen area is very clean and has everything you might need. Braemar is lovely, lots of great walks.

Pros: The hostel had been refurbished since we last stayed there and well, what a difference!!! Lovely and relaxed atmosphere, great facilities, scrupulously clean, and with the fantastic Jannick on hand to help with anything and everything, it was a great place to stay.

Cons: The noisy shower that sounded like a bulldozer coming through the wall! 🤣

Pros: Lovely setting in the middle of a cute, quaint little city of Braemar. Large communal spaces, good recommendations from the staff for visits in het local area. Definitely would come back

Staff helpful, very clean place and would stay again

Pros: The breakfast was fine, maybe as no hot food some cheese or meat could have been provided like a continental breakfast.

Cons: A wee curtain round the bed would be useful for some privacy, people lighting up room with torch woke me up several times, comfy bed though.
