Islay Cottage

Just the most perfect few days away, in a gorgeous property in a wonderful location

Pros: The location was perfect for our few days away, the bus stop into Aviemore. The cottage was clean and cosy (the heaters had been put on before we arrive which meant we had a warm welcome) and had everything we needed. Tanya was an amazing host, happy to answer any questions we had before and during our stay and even made herself available to introduce me to open water swimming in a local Loch. Amazing

Cons: There was nothing that we didn't like

The cottage exceeded our expectations. We will be back soon!

Cons: Nothing! We had a wonderful trip and the cottage was a real highlight to stay in during our holiday in Scotland.

Fun despite the weather!

Pros: Great location for exploring the area and so much to do in the area. Had a nice family feel to it.

Cons: Kitchen was a bit small for a family of 5, but it was well stocked and we didn’t want to cook much on holiday anyway!

Great stay

Pros: Fantastic little cottage in a great location. Very clean and had everything I needed. Host was available if needed but I had no problems during my stay. I would highly recommend this property and would love to return.

Cons: Double mattress was slightly soft for me but this is personal taste. Doesn’t stop me giving 10/10

Summer family stay

Pros: Nice rustic style. Great location: Outside of villages yet most shopping only a short drive away, and many great activities within day trip range. Highland park around the corner worth investing a full day. Some of the pictures on the walls can serve as inspiration for trips.

Cons: Cold kitchen floor even in summer, should have brought slippers. Couch could benefit from a blanket, given that heating is a fairly conscious topic in this place. The A9 road can be a bit noisy at times, particularly outdoors in the garden.

Islay cottage medowside

Pros: Location was excellent. Cottage was beautiful. Clean and tidy and loved the little extras such as body shop soap, hand-wash etc. Brilliant for dogs too with handy grassy area with dog bins plus wooded walk a stones throw away.

Highly recommended

Pros: Lovely cottage, spacious with a rustic feel. Hosts communicated by texts before we arrived to ensure that we found the property and the keys. The cottage is well looked after and clean. Complimentary items were provided such as coffee, tea and shower gel/shampoo.

Muy recomendable

Pros: La casa tiene todo lo necesario para pasar unos cuantos días, las camas son muy cómodas, la ubicación es muy buena, para poder hacer excursiones en el parque Cairgorms y para visitar otras zonas del país.

Cons: No encontré nada que no me gustara, lo único que eché de menos en algún momento fue el lavavajillas.

Friends holiday in Scotland!

Pros: Great location, lots to do in the area. The hosts thoughtfully provided maps and walking routes around the area, which came in handy! Beds were comfy, and the house stayed cool even in the heat. A cosy little house, we had a lovely stay!

Cons: The only issue we had was the size of the fridge, for 5 adults, who like to eat in, getting everything in the fridge was a squeeze!
