Pros: House was just perfect with extremely high quality furnishings, and spotless. The location was stunning and peaceful.

Cons: The building site next door starting work at 07:30.

Lovely stay. The cottage, Ballater and surrounding area made a great place for an interesting holiday.

Pros: Good location. Clean and comfortable. Two good-sized bedrooms and plenty of stylishly furnished living space. We had great weather and enjoyed sitting out in the garden but can imagine Gairnlea as a cosy winter retreat.

Cons: Slimline dishwasher - shame kitchen hadn’t been configured to take a full sized version.

Great cottage, plenty of indoor and outdoor space, perfect base for an active holiday

Pros: Great house and garden walking distance to Ballater and all the walking paths .

Cons: We didnt see how Sykes cottages improved our stay- we would have preferred to book direct on booking. com as most cottages / accommodation and not through an unconnected third party who insisted on full payment 6 months before but with whom we had no contact. Host very helpful

Best place by far in Ballatar

Perfect place to stay if you’re looking to experience what Scotland has to offer.

Pros: Fantastic location, the house was beautifully decorated with a Scottish theme throughout. Clean and tidy with the most comfortable beds. Loved the 2 separate areas for relaxing ( living room with log burning fire for cold winter evenings and the dinning room for meals and relaxation) Excellent storage for snowboards and bikes which highlights the benefit of the location for exploring the outdoors. So much to do and visit making this house the perfect based.

Pros: The house was lovely, very clean, cosy and the location was great. The owners were very quick at communicating to any questions I asked. Would definitely stay there again

Cons: Nothing much to be honest, but if i was to be a bit picky I kinda missed not having a welcome hamper on arrival , but this wouldn’t change my mind about staying again, we loved the house.

Pros: The house was very clean and had a good selection of china, cutlery etc. Also plenty of towels which is rare

Cons: The house was a little spartan and not everything was perfect as we both hit our heads in the bathroom a couple of times!!

Ein Komforthaus zum Entspannen.

Pros: Eine in fast jeglicher Hinsicht hervorragende Unterkunft: eine sehr gute Lage, nur 3 min zu Fuß vom Zentrum, Parkplätze auf dem Grundstück, eine ruhige, angenehme Umgebung, ein großer, gepflegter Garten mit guten Gartenmöbeln, eine hochwertige, moderne und komfortable Ausstattung des Hauses, große, bequeme Betten, genügend Schrankplatz, zwei sehr gute Badezimmer und zwei geräumige Zimmer (Esszimmer und Wohnzimmer mit Kamin).

Cons: Das einzige, wirklich sehr kleine Manko war die Ausstattung der Küche, wenn man für mehrere Personen kochen möchte: es gab kein Backblech für den Ofen, keine große Schüssel, keine große Auflaufform, keinen Suppentopf. Dafür gab es einen Tiefkühlschrank, was wir sehr begrüßt haben.
