Stunning
Pros: Location, location, location. Phenomenal placement at the edge of Loch Ness. The Abbey has been beautifully and sympathetically restored and a fine balance has been struck between permanent residency and guests like us. The apartment was furnished to a high standard and the views from the charming old windows into the courtyard or the lush grounds were just sublime, as my daughter in law said, \
Cons: The only minor quibble could be the lack of a lift so you need to be aware of this if booking one of the upper apartments. This was not an issue for us but worthy of note.

Very nice stay in a beautiful Abbey
Pros: The Abbey is stunning! Lovely flat with 2 rooms (2 bathrooms) well equipped. The shared pool was really nice to enjoy after a day exploring. Restaurants in walking distance. We tested the Boathouse and it was really good.
Cons: Lots of stairs (the apartment is on the second floor and the rooms are upstairs in the apartment) The heavy doors inside the building and the flat were a bit annoying.

Restful Abbey and grounds in a superb location
Pros: The Abbey has kept its original Architecture as far as possible, a very restful space. The apartment was very well appointed. The grounds and location on the Loch Ness shoreline were superb, also an easy walk into Fort Augustus.

Comfortable apartment in a unique, beautiful complex
Pros: Super unique property with lots of history and stunning grounds and facilities. Management was lovely and showed us around, making us feel very welcome. Check in and out was easy and the apartment itself was lovely and comfortable.
Cons: Nothing for us personally. It would not be suitable for someone with heavy luggage or mobility issues as it requires lots of stairs.

An amazing converted Abbey with many onsite (free) facilities, a great base to explore the Highlands
Pros: We booked this property without realising it was part of a larger complex (The Highland Club) and therefore had free access to the swimming pool (pre-book), sauna/steam room, gym (also bookable), table tennis, snooker/pool and other activities on the large site (e.g. tennis courts - rackets provided). Walking around the historic Abbey (where the accommodation is) was like walking round Hogwarts - a magnificent building on amazing grounds overlooking Loch Ness. The flat itself was nice and comfortable, with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, an en-suite shower room, living room, kitchen and hall cupboard for coats etc. There was also an upstairs nook (which could convert to a bedroom) - ideal for time out and reading. The wifi was good. The kitchen has a microwave, fridge, freezer, hobs and oven/grill. The town had many interesting and helpful things - the canal locks, places to eat, supermarket, petrol, boat trips on Loch Ness etc.
Cons: For some reason, almost all the internal doors were heavy, self-closing fire doors, meaning they wouldn't stay open unless wedged open with furniture. This was slightly irritating and not at all needed - only the kitchen made sense. As a listed building, the windows were single panes and draughty. We needed the heating on most of the time (thermostat in the hallway), which heated up the rooms quickly. Unfortunately 2 radiators in the bathrooms (both upstairs) didn't work, so these rooms could get cold. The kitchen was also quite small and we would have liked a recycling bin and some additional mugs of different sizes. The oven door also fell apart on opening a couple of times (the top of the glass needed to be fixed in place). We were disappointed that there was no smart TV - channels were limited, and the bedroom TV didn't have reception (only DVDs). There was also no music system, so we used our own bluetooth speaker. The property would not be great for someone with mobility issues as it's on the second floor and the apartment is over 2 floors, with no bathrooms downstairs. These little things didn't stop us having an excellent week (the weather was fantastic).

This was our favourite accomodation. The Abbey was beautiful, calm, offered us everything we needed.
Pros: The very informative tour of the property, lovely meet & greet, warm & welcoming. The facilities were lovely, but we didn’t make the time to use the pool or the guest lounge & entertainment area. Shame because it was so inviting.

Excellent and Great Location.
Pros: Great location, stunning property and very well equipped apartment, dishwasher washer/ dryer. Bathroom and en-suite shower room. Bright lounge with comfy sofas and dining table.Very little noise from other users.. Mark the manager of the property gave us a very well informed introduction to the property and surroundings.the property is an ideal base for visiting towns and villages around Loch Ness.
Cons: The apartment we used was on the top floor and there isn’t a lift so anyone older or with mobility problems would struggle. Mark helped us with our luggage though which we were very grateful for.

Pros: The host was lovely. Apartment was clean and very modern and comfortable. Loved having a dishwasher and clothes washer. Wine was nice and the milk ans coffee. Along with the soccer ball for kids. Didnt get time for using the tennis rack. Loved staying at the abbey. Played snooker and pool. Was sad to leave.
Cons: Lots of steps and struggled with suitcases. Disappointed we had to book times with pool. Was very hard to know what time we would be back from driving to be able to swim.
