Great hosts, lovely place

Pros: The hosts were very helpful. Our car got stuck getting up the icy road from the property and the hosts did everything they could to help us get to the top. Gordon ended up driving up and gritting the road and giving me a push. He suggested to park at the top of the road and offered to give us a lift to and from the property. The area is beautiful and the place was great. Heated floor, rain shower, some complementary breakfast supplies in the room.

Cons: I would recommend parking at the top of the road if it's frozen and you don't have winter tyres. The road down to the property is quite steep and private so isn't looked after by the council so can be difficult in bad weather. It was -2 when we were there and the road had frozen over and our car couldn't make it up the hill. Luckily the hosts were very helpful and came to help us out.

Amazing and cosy place to stay for our anniversary trip!

Pros: Beautiful little place to stay for two nights. We spent our 15 year anniversary together here! The birds and wildlife were so cute. Super cosy and private. So much to do in surrounding areas.

Perfect little place

Pros: Everything. Perfect peaceful little spot to relax and get away from it all.

Pros: We absolutely loved our stay at the Siskin Guest Suite! From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how peaceful and quiet it was – the perfect escape. The suite itself was spotless, beautifully comfortable, and had everything we could possibly need. One of the highlights was simply looking out of the window. Within 10 minutes we spotted a red squirrel, and the variety of birds just outside was incredible – such a magical experience. The surrounding forest walks were equally amazing and made our stay feel even more special. It’s hard to put into words just how perfect this place is. We can’t recommend it highly enough and will definitely be coming back.

Idilic sleek cozy bolt hole

Pros: This secluded private room was the perfect place to wait out a storm. The room is beautifully decorated to a modern sleek standard. Under floor heating throughout. Big wet room shower, was great and the powerful hairdryer gets an extra star. The large patio windows to watch the wildlife was perfect to while away the windy storm- we saw red squirrels, deer and fawns, woodpeckers, chaffinch and green finch! Perfect welcome pack and direction/access details and local advice provided by Gordon and Dulcie. The river side walk was a real gem.

Cons: No negatives but glad we had a car with good clearance for the forest track. No issues but just mention in case anyone tries to take a sporty MG down there. I had a video of the room but can’t upload that sorry. Simply put a gem of a place.

Pros: Everything went very well. The accomodation is all around great in a nice quiet spot, although it can be somewhat difficult to find. The access road is bit rough but even low ground clearance vehicle like bmw 3 managed to get there (dont go with anything even lower than that though :). Keep in mind that one does need a vehicle do get there.

Gorgeous tranquil accomodation that feels like home

Pros: The location was gorgeous. In tranquil nature with great dog walks right from the door and lots more nearby. Good entertainment a short drive away too. Well thought out, clean accomodation with lots of nice touches like breakfast options provided. Spacious and comfortable. Sat out in the sun having our breakfast and enjoyed watching birds at the feeder from bed. Lovely!

Cons: We were quite hot over night so a sheet would have been a nice addition to the duvet on the bed - but it was unusually warm! Being able to open the bathroom window for airing would have been nice.

A beautiful escape

Pros: Like others have said, this is a secluded little gem of a place. It’s so peaceful and we spent most of our stay watching red squirrels and woodpeckers use the bird feeders. It’s such a little oasis.

Cons: Nothing!

Pros: Excellent location and very comfortable bed. It was lovely to watch the birds and red squirrels in the trees outside the suite.

Pros: Lovely tranquil, great setting comfortable and clean. Couple nights perfect.

Cons: Bit off the beaten track to get to local eateries etc unless you took the car. As long as you brought essentials not really a problem though I wouldn't have wanted to cook anything substantial as I'd of been worried about smells and mess .😊
