Elrick Estate - Coach House

A little piece of magic

Pros: Perfect place to chill and relax. Everything was spotless and beds were super comfy. The hot tub was magic in the cold wet evenings.

A wee gem!

Pros: The coach house is in a beautiful location, and we were so impressed with how clean and comfortable it was. The underfloor heating is a dream when it’s chilly outside. The house has been designed to a really high standard, with quality appliances and beautiful finishes. The hot tub was ready for our arrival, and there were deer roaming in the garden in the morning. The grounds of the estate are perfect for a wintery walk. Our kids loved staying here, and begged not to leave! The kitchen was really well equipped, and it’s not far from shops, pubs, supermarket and takeaways, although we didn’t use any during our stay because I loved cooking in the kitchen! We stayed during the thick snow, and Stuart was very approachable and helpful. This is a wee gem of a place, and we will definitely be booking again.

Cons: Honestly, nothing at all.

Pros: Incredible location, the coach house had impeccable design and decor. It contains everything you need for your stay for cooking, there was even an iron and hair dryer. The tub was hot and ready for us. We go away quite often and I have always found the bed and bedding to be uncomfortable everywhere we go, however the coach house is equipped with the comfiest mattress and pillows for a restful nights sleep.

Cons: A little more privacy around the hot tub, perhaps a screen? The back windows of the house of Elrick can be seen from the tub, I feel in the summer this may not be a problem as the shrubs would hide it but in the winter it feels very open.

Lovely property, clean and spacious.

Pros: The standard of the property is lovely. The photos really don't do it justice. Although it's only 2 bedrooms, there are 2 sofa beds that could sleep up to 8 in total if needed. The hot tub was lovely and was set up nicely. There's a nice little walk around the grounds and walled garden and is in a quiet area. The house was kitted out with absolutely everything you need to make meals and the underfloor heating is fantastic!

Cons: The only thing that could have made this better was if dressing gowns \u0026 slippers were provided (and additional towels). Or even a note on the booking page to advise to bring this with you. The hot tub is set away from the coach house and you need to walk over 2 sets of stones/chuckies to reach it. It becomes a problem when you get out of the hot tub when you've only taken 1 set of shoes; you can't put your wet feet into them so walking back on the stones with bare feet was an interesting experience. You also can't use the 1 towel provided to cover yourself on the walk back as it would then be soaking and unable to be used for a shower after.

Pros: Lovely location Clean and tidy Kitchen was great and had everything you needed.

Cons: The only thing we had a problem with during our stay was finding the place, as the postcode took us to the service entrances which you aren’t able to access the property via

Exceptional property in beautiful grounds at a very reasonable price.

Pros: The property is exceptional. The host is very accommodating and knowledgeable. The layout of the coach house is fabulous. The kitchen is very well equipped and easy to work in. It has more than you need for a stay and surpasses all other similarly priced properties by a mile. I’m struggling to say anything negative. I would recommend it as the place to stay whilst in the area.
