York Street Retreat

Prime location for a short or long stay!

Pros: The location was prime for our entire stay. The bus stop is just a few minutes walk from the apartment as is a grocery store and a delicious restaurant called Capercaille. There are a few other close by restaurants but we didn't visit them. The Balvenie and Glenfiddich distilleries are an easy walk as well or you can take the bus. The apartment was amazingly comfortable. The large bed slept well, we had plenty of hot water, the garden sitting area was cozy and we may have had a few raspberries with our breakfast. The kitchen was well appointed. We greatly appreciated the use of the washing machine as we've been traveling for awhile. The hosts were immediately responsive when I reported a problem with the WiFi. All my questions and concerns were answered in a timely manner.

Cons: This is NA. Everything was great and I can think of nothing on which to improve. This was one of our favorite stays during our several weeks long adventure through Ireland and the UK.

A lovely place to stay.

Pros: Very central and perfect base for what we wanted to do and visit. All facilities you need in a house are all there. Cozy place perfect for a small group or family.

Pros: Julie and Ian were spectacular hosts! The home was everything we could have hoped for. It was warm, comfy, and in a great location. Thank you for a spectacular stay!

Pros: Good location , easy parking , could walk to Restaurant’s!

Cons: No body wash for shower , would have been nice to have a box of Kleenex !

Pros: Complete inrichting, goede douche, heel erg schoon. Centraal gelegen. Supermarkten en restaurants om de hoek. Met sleutelcode binnengekomen. Binnen lag een zeer complete map met heel veel info.

Cons: Keuken en tuin hebben onderhoud nodig. Koelkast stond los te wankelen waarbij wij twijfelden of hij wel helemaal dicht was. Vriezer hebben we uitgezet omdat hij veel te veel lawaai maakte. Er was maar 1 wijnglas maar wel heel veel limonadeglazen. Tuin is ongezellig, is met een klein beetje moeite veel meer van te maken. Vanuit het raam van de woonkamer keek je in de tuin van de buren en daar was het een grote bende.

Wenn Dufftown dann York Street

Pros: Hier wohnt man in einem der typischen Reihenhäuser in der Stadt. Das Haus ist wunderschön! So geschmackvoll eingerichtet, mit einer tollen Küche, einem kleinen Hof, wo wir die Wäsche getrocknet haben (Waschmittel für die Waschmaschien ist vorhanden) und einem total schicken, modernen Kamin. Wir haben uns sofort wie zu Hause gefühlt. Wer die umliegenden Distillerien erkunden will ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Der Clocktower ist in Sichtweite, Glennfiddich und Balwenie in Laufentfernung, es gibt aber auch einen Bus. Das Bad ist im oberen Stockwerk, man sollte fit fürs Treppensteigen sein. Parken kann man direkt vor der Haustür, sehr entspannt alles. Es gibt mehrere kleine Wanderungen rund um Dufftown, das Städtchen hat uns gut gefallen, zum Coop-Supermarkt kann man laufen. Absolute Empfehlung.

Cons: Der Kühlschrank sollte überprüft werden, die Tür schließt nicht richtig und deshalb ist er sehr laut.

Highly enjoyable and an excellent base for our holiday.

Pros: Very comfortable and clean. Ideal accommodation for our long weekend trip.
