Pros: Had a great few days in the hut. Viv is a fantastic host, and the hut is perfect for people looking for a great value place to lay your head. Rustic, and minimal, but if you're the type to go for it, a veritable lap of luxury. Will be back for sure!

Absolutely incredible - atmospheric, cozy, and joyous!

Pros: It was so perfect! Fun and unique, and deeply warm and cozy! On such a beautiful piece of property, and wish we could have stayed longer. I'd be surprised if we didn't come back. All around, from the bathroom, to the sleeping mats, to the kettle and fridge, it was just all perfect - nothing missed. Also hearing sheep bleat as a morning alarm - gorgeous!

Pros: This was such a lovely little hut, perfect base to do some walking in the area. Loved my little good morning greeting from one of the chickens! It was surprisingly spacious too, and very well equipped! The bed was definitely more comfortable than our initial plan to camp in the tent but it was a wee bit hard and had to turn a few times to ease pressure on my hips.

Relaxing and restful with loads of animal interactions!

Pros: I loved the simplicity of the hut, and arrived after wild camping in North East Scotland for two weeks, so I simply needed a place to stay as I travelled the long distance back home, and I didn't want to be indoors in a stuffy hostel room, so the hut gave me the best of both worlds - somewhere dry where I didn't need to pack and unpack all my camping gear again, and a place that was the perfect transition from outside to in. The hut was beautifully built and had everything I needed including camp kitchen. There was also a beautiful and warm fully plumbed shower and toilet hut with electric shower and flushing toilet, a luxury after compost toilets and wild weeing! Viv, the host was also super helpful and really inspiring to chat to and the three dogs, cat, chickens and sheep were also a joy to commune with too! The views and dark skies were another reason to return again.

Cons: Everything was perfect - even the rain held off!

Magical experience in a lovely spot

Pros: Such a wonderful bespoke made place to stay with everything we needed. We loved the animals, the kitchen and provisions, the little fridge... The shower was great too. All so peaceful (yet a really easy walk to the town) and a wonderful experience - wish we were there longer!

Cons: It was marvellous - we loved it all!

Great little hut

Pros: The location was perfect. Half way on a long journey for us. Really unique and friendly owners. Lots of chickens beware! On a small holding with other animals around too. Very quiet and just out of town but close to the coop of you fancy a walk.

Cons: Can't really think of anything. Would like to have stayed longer.

Pros: We loved the beautiful location with views over the valley and lovely walks. It was such a novelty to have the animals roaming freely around us and our host was lovely chatting to is about the history of how the croft has been passed down through the family. The hut itself is simple but clean and all that is needed with the bathroom facilities right next door. Would definitely return!
