Fairburn Activity Centre

Fairburn Activity Centre is set in the Scottish woodland of Strathconon Glen and is a 30 minutes' drive from Inverness. It offers limited free Wi-Fi in the downstairs public areas and parking. All rooms and glamping pods are en-suite with hydromassage showers and/or a bath. All rooms in the main building have a TV. The Stables breakfast room provides a buffet continental breakfast for all guests with cereal, toast, pastry, yogurt and fruit along with tea, filter coffee and fruit juice. Guests can also purchase a selection of coffee and other breakfast options such as filled rolls. The centre offers a range of outdoor activities on-site at present. These are ideally suited for those aged 8+, but we can adapt some for younger children. In the surrounding forest guests can try activities such as archery, jacob's ladder, crate stack, canoeing on the pond, raft building, laser tag, mini paintball and bushcraft. Guests should ideally book activities prior to arrival, but the team will also do its best to help if this is not possible. Please note we cannot guarantee any specific activities if not booked 2 weeks in advance.

Great stopover

Pros: This was a really fun stop for us on our highlands trip. A last minute booking out of season, and we were the only ones there. We didn't do any activities as our daughter is too small but they were very accomdating and the continental breakfast was great. The room was huge.

Cons: There's no front desk overnight so we were the only ones on site. Which is fine, but just know it's an activity centre offering B\u0026B rather than hotel.

Amazing! A magical place and we will definitely be back!

Pros: This property was fantastic! Tucked away behind a grand house in a beautiful estate!! We met pheasants, deer and red squirrels in the grounds!

Cons: I would have preferred a chain or latch on the inside of the room door. As a female travelling alone with 2 kids I prefer this type of security measure x

Pros: All the staff were friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much bother and they were always at hand if needed. Continental breakfast was delicious with the option to purchase hot breakfast rolls (sausage,bacon,egg). We stayed for 2 nights after driving the NC500 and found it a good base to explore the local area on foot and a short drive to Loch Ness. The accommodation is self catering, we were able to order pizza delivery to the main door. There are also other takeaways a short drive away.

Wonderful stay - felt like home away from home. Staff were so friendly, helpful and so accomodating

Pros: Fairburn Activity Centre has the most welcoming atmosphere. We stayed in the Twin Pod which was beautiful, clean and comfy. The staff Ella, Struan and Jess were so helpful and made us feel welcome and relaxed. The history of Fairburn is fantastic - the activity centre dinning room is in the old stables and carriage room. Our booking included a continental breakfast - if we wanted anything more substantial, we could order it at a very fair price. There is a communal fridge for you to store any food in. We had a BBQ on the one night and the BBQ was supplied to us free of charge (no need to purchase disposable ones). The BBQ area is situated in a clearing under a canopy of trees. I will definitely be back.

Cons: There really wasn't much I didn't enjoy. The wifi wasn't great but then I didn't expect it to be.

Great value for money, wonderful staff \u0026 beautiful surroundings!

Pros: Loved the serenity of the natural surroundings \u0026\u0026 the many activity options available to us!

Cons: Not something we didn’t like about the property itself but just something to be aware of. Many families were staying at the same time as us who had small children \u0026 so we were woken up to laughing \u0026 running down the hall - not a bad alarm if you ask me but some may want to sleep in!
