Pros: The resort and woodland lodges are centrally located in Aviemore meaning you can easily walk to most places in the town and to public transport if you don't have a car. The lodge was older but we found it to be in good condition and everything worked. The WI-FI was pretty good too which is important as we struggled to get a mobile signal. The kitchen had all the utensils you'd need to make simple meals and there was a hob microwave, dishwasher, and Nespresso style coffee maker too (bring your own pods) too.

Cons: The lodges are older and while we found everything worked, they could do with a bit of refurbishment (replace worn carpets on stairs, fresh coat of paint). And after a long day of walking and outdoor activities, it would be nice to be able to settle down and watch a movie or show on demand from Netflix, Prime etc. While the lodges have a living room TV and TVs in each bedroom, they are not SMART TV so we couldn't log on to our subscription services. While the kitchen was good, an oven / grill would have been great.

Good affordable accommodation in fantastic location . Directly opposite the train station.

Pros: Very clean and great location. Everything on your doorstep . Access to Leisure centre was great.

Cons: 5pm check in is far too late especially when checkout is 10am.

We had an excellent time while staying with you, we would recommend

Pros: Loved the accommodation and the leisure facilities. Breakfast was good, and the staff were attentive.

Cons: The pool was a little cold, but the staff were great. The cinema refreshments were a little steep in price. Some staff seemed a little begrudging to be at work but I get it, it was quiet. The lights in the Aspects restaurant were quite flickery when we had our steak dinner there, but the staff and food were good, just a little distracting with the lights

Spacious Lodge in great location

Pros: Very spacious, good layout (although kitchen is quite small), clean, great location. Lovely wood burned too. Whilst lots of reviews said the lodges felt dated, we did not think so at all. Amenities were also a nice extra especially the soft play for our little one which was super quiet this time of year

Cons: For the price we paid this time of year, everything was great. However for the price it usually is, the lodge needs some small updating mainly in the kitchen. There is no oven which makes self catering for any longer than a few short days difficult. The TVs are also ancient, but were provided in each room. Unfortunately, the steam rooms were out of service during our stay whilst we were there and the sauna also had some issues not fully warming up. The lady at reception had no idea and the employee at the activity center wasn’t aware of timelines for this to be fixed (we were there for 3 nights/4 days and it wasn’t working the entire time). We wish we would have been informed about this prior to arrival as this was part of our decision to book this place. The pool whilst quiet, which was great, was on the cooler side (especially for tiny toddlers) and seemed only half filled with water which made swimming for tall people quite difficult so we couldn’t use the facilities as much as we’d hoped. Also, whilst we were there the weather warmed a bit and all the snow melted whilst it rained in between making it extremly icy (black ice) everywhere. Whilst grit was provided directly outside the lodge, the paths everywhere else were nearly unwalkable. For a family resort we really would have expected for the paths to be cleaned or made safe for walking, especially with small children.

Great Lodgein a great location. Will definitely visit again!

Pros: Great lodge. Very friendly, helpful staff. The walks nearby were lovely. Great location.

Cons: The lodge didn’t have an oven and the kitchen wasn’t fully equipped which made cooking difficult. The local restaurants were booked up so we had to travel to eat out. Can fully recommend the Boat Inn at Boat of Garten, excellent!
