Ruapehu Lodge

Pros: A lovely stay in a lovely, cosy, very well equipped caravan . Perfect location. Just a couple of minutes drive into Aviemore or a 10 minute walk along the cycle route. I'll definitely be returning!

Well located, beautiful and cosy lodge in the heart Aviemore

Pros: Extremely cosy lodge for a wintery break. As a family of two adults and two children we had plenty of space and the facilities in the cabin and location were excellent. Easy walking distance to Aviemore centre even with a four year old. Would definitely book again. Very clean, we did not go to the on site bar so cannot comment on that but maybe next time. Also beautiful scenery.

Cons: Decking could do with a lick of paint and a slightly later check out of 11am would have been good as check in is not until 4pm (although we managed to get into the cabin earlier as it was ready so grateful for that.) I personally think check in should be from 3 and check out 11.

Cosy , peaceful ,everything you need and more ,great cooking facilities ,great views .Comfy bed.

Pros: Thank you so much Gregor and Helen for the perfect stay ,the accomodation was super clean ,cosy and so peaceful and quiet and you had thought of everything. Wonderful location , we walked everywhere , surrounded by nature , great walks and loads of places of great interest .The Highland Wildlife Park is a must they do incredible work and research to preserve endangered species ,the animals are so well cared for and fascinating talks from the zooligists while watching the Polar bears , American tigers and Wolfs being fed .The view of the Cairngorms from the chalet was stunning and the bird life and stunning trees plus the River Spey all on your door step .Thank you , the bed was so comfortable and the ensuite with a great shower and tons of hot water .Will definitely be back was wonderful .

Overall great experience

Pros: Everything was spot on. I had no issues at all — the house was clean, and the kitchen had everything I needed. No complaints whatsoever. The location is excellent, with shops less than a 5‑minute drive away. I visited in November, so it was a very quiet period with only a few houses occupied. I can’t say what it would be like during the busy season, but I imagine it must feel lively when all the houses are full. Some people might find it noisy, but I think the atmosphere would be even more beautiful with more families around, making the place feel alive.

Cons: I felt there wasn’t much guidance available for nice walks. I tried to find a walkway but unfortunately couldn’t. I’m not sure if there are any, but if there are, it would be helpful to ask or have some guidance provided — perhaps in the form of leaflets

Pros: This was our second time staying at Ruapehu Lodge the lodge is very clean warm and comfortable a lovely walk in to Avimore town beautiful scenery would definitely recommend

Pros: This was our 2nd stay there as it's spacious,clean and comfortable. The location is perfect,we could walk to the high street in minutes and cycle into the woods aswell! The staff did email instructions of everything we needed to know . Great accomodation !
