The Old Manse

Lovely house with great facilities, excellent for a group of friends.

Pros: Great house, loved the sauna and jacuzzi options, beautiful grounds.

Cons: It’s an old house so we understand that that’s part of the character, but the house could do with some updating. Several door knobs fell off as soon as we touched them, the curtain railing in the top floor bedroom is on its last legs, some of the lighting didn’t work and the TV in the main lounge wasn’t working. It’s a lovely property, just needing a bit of a freshen up to make it more hospitable.

Highly recommend, lovely setting in own grounds, ideal for a large family event / function

Beautiful home for larger families

Pros: The house was exactly as described and frankly even better. Exceeded expectations. Lovely home and plenty of space for all of us. The games room was just amazing. It helped that e had the most gorgeous weather and lots of Highland Games taking place in different places close by to choose from.

Cons: The stove didn’t heat up quickly enough for a rapid meal. The kitchen was very well appointed apart from that. The gym (which in fairness wasn’t advertised ) was a nice surprise but much of the equipment is incomplete or not working.

Pros: A Perfect Stay – Highly Recommended! Fantastic house! It was peaceful, yet close enough to all the major attractions and local restaurants. We were able to easily explore the area without any hassle. The host was welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend it to anyone.

Absolutely wonderful

Pros: This was our second visit and it was just as wonderful as the first . We were greeted when we arrived which is always lovely. It was spotlessly clean, the bedding is lovely, it was very cosy . The bedrooms are all a good size The pool room in the basement was enjoyed by all .

Pros: A fabulous and spacious country house that feels homely. All mod cons but still with an authentic atmosphere. There's something for everyone- pool table, Wii, games etc and the rooms are cosy and well kept. Couldn't fault it.

Wonderful, relaxing stay

Pros: Excellent location, wonderful old house which has been well maintained. Beautiful grounds, sauna and jacuzzi bath were a hit, along with the pool table. Kitchen was home from home - just wonderful.

Cons: Nothing at all

Fantastic host, Fantastic House...we'll be back!

Pros: The location is perfect, the house is superb. Absolutely ideal for a family gathering all under one roof. The kitchen is well equipped - you don't need to take any utensils and there were even basic things like tea/coffee/cooking oil. The dining room is perfect for a family gathering - we had a full Christmas dinner! For such a big house it is very cosy and warm in every room - so warm we didn't even light the beautiful log fire that was all set up for us. The pool room was fantastic, great place to hang out. The sauna was lovely. We are definitely going to come back. We were met on arrival and welcomed which was great. I also lost a necklace while I was there which they found and returned. One of the best places we've stayed in.

Cons: There was nothing that we didn't like.

Perfect base for touring whisky country

Pros: The property was huge, with more than enough room for our group. Various spaces to come together as a group or to have a quiet moment alone. Kitchen was exceptionally well appointed with everything you need and more. A well stocked dry cupboard provided all the essentials needed when cooking, a genuinely nice touch. The games room was a very welcome addition. Communication with the owners was brilliant and a problem we had with a smoke detector was resolved quickly, without any fuss.

Cons: Nothing of note!

Pros: A perfect place for a group of 5 Australian women travelling around Scotland. It was so beautifully appointed, comfy, warm and homely. A personal touch from Robbie and his bagpipes was the icing on the cake. Loved it!
